A self-taught artist, Cale Chew started painting early 2009. Creating a unique style that combines both realism and a cartoon character, Cale paints from inspiration based on meaningful quotations so every painting has a story behind it. Her artworks - usually bright and colourful in water-colour with mixed medium - are a celebration of peace, friendship, and love of nature.
Despite being a new kid on the block, Cale has been invited by Singapore Soka Association to produce a calendar featuring twelve of her works in aid for their new building fund. She was also honoured to have one of her paintings included in a fund-raising auction for the Singapore Children's Cancer Foundation (an organisation whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being).
Cale hopes to use her artwork to encourage and inspire others and aims to publish her works in 2010 / 2011.
